Assessing without levels
In September 2014, a new national curriculum was introduced, and assessment using level descriptors was abolished.
Schools now have to decide how best to assess children, and how to record and evidence progress.
Children will be working towards meeting a set of expectations by the end of the year, in all subjects, and teachers have been involved in discussions to design an assessment system which will be best for Abingdon Primary, one which will be easy to operate and understand, and one which will clearly show how a child is making progress.
When it is finished, we will talk to our parents and carers so they understand the work their child is doing. and how they are making progress.
