Dear Parents and Carers,

As you will undoubtedly know, the PM has announced school closures across the UK, which will be reviewed by February half term.

We have everything in place to support learners in line with our Remote Learning Policy and Guidance (Curriculum Tab and Coronavirus tabs on home page)

All learning is taking place as before via SeeSaw learning platform so please contact teachers if you need a reminder of login details.

If you do not have access to any technology for your child to use to complete online learning, or if you do not have access to wifi or data, please contact school via the following email addresses: admin@abingdon.stockport.sch.uk / headteacher@abingdon.stockport.sch.uk / claire.flanders@abingdon.stockport.sch.uk.

We have also purchased some stylus pens if any families need them to make writing on tablets/phones more manageable. Please use contact details as above.

Finally, I appreciate that this is a difficult and frustrating time for everyone. We are doing our utmost to make sure that your child has access to high quality learning and pastoral support. All of the staff are available via digital communication so please do contact us if you have any concerns. We have also arranged for digital pastoral meet up sessions for some children. Please contact school if you think your child would also benefit from sessions during this time.

I will continue to communicate any updates to you. Thank you as always for your support.

Very best wishes,
Mrs Clark

On behalf of all our children, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to Abingdon Primary School.

We are fully open again and are thrilled to have our Abingdon Family back together!

We have assessed the risks and have measures in place to manage them. If you would like more information or to discuss this then please contact the school office on 0161 480 4531.

For a virtual tour of the school, please scroll to the bottom of the page to watch our fantastic video!

If your child is starting school next September, you can book an individual tour of the school. Please contact Joanne Murray on 0161 480 4531 to book an appointment and receive information on how we are carrying out visits in line with COVID-19 safety parameters. Visitors will be required to wear a mask and sanitize their hands upon entry to the school as well as socially distance throughout. We are restricting visits to one adult at a time during national lockdown restrictions.

At Abingdon Primary, our whole team is committed to your child’s learning journey, ensuring it is happy and successful. We embrace diversity and our school is a wonderful hub of inclusion. We would love you to join our Abingdon Family where everyone is special.

We recognise the importance of working together in partnership to enable our children to flourish as well-rounded individuals. We have high aspirations for our children: as they grow within our ‘Abingdon Family’, we expect our children to uphold high standards of behaviour and attitudes to learning and embrace challenges readily. Most importantly, we want them to feel valued, supported and encouraged through a stimulating learning environment, whilst having lots of fun!

Below is our Code of Conduct, which explains how we do things at Abingdon:

We believe that positive relationships are the bedrock of a successful learning environment for our children, who must feel happy, safe and secure to truly achieve their potential, both academically and socially. Around school, we enjoy those positive relationships and we very much look forward to working in partnership with you as parents as well.

Please take time to look through our website, including the Twitter posts, to see the broad range of exciting opportunities we use to challenge our learners. I believe it is essential to look round a school to gain a feel for it, therefore I welcome any opportunity to invite you into school to share our fantastic learning.

For any appointments to visit the school, please contact the school office on 0161 480 4531 or email admin@abingdon.stockport.sch.uk / wendy.beer@abingdon.stockport.sch.uk

We look forward to meeting you.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Sheena Clark
