Pastoral Team and Inclusion
Mr Cumberbatch - Pastoral Manager
Mr Cumberbatch is our Pastoral lead. He works with children and families to support their emotional wellbeing, keep them safe, improve attendance and help them flourish both socially and academically. At Abingdon, we work really closely with our families and if you require any additional support please feel free to get in contact.

The Rainbow Room is a safe, calm space providing children with extra support in managing emotions and learning about life. In Rainbow Room we have a number of various staff who work together as part of the Pastoral and Inclusion team here at Abingdon.
Mrs Lamb - SENDCo
Mrs Lamb is our SENDCo. She has a teacher at Abingdon for 20 years now. She is based in our Rainbow Room in the afternoons, working with children either 1 to 1 or in small groups, looking at emotions, self esteem, anger management and managing feelings.
We have a Morning Club in Rainbow Room where some children who are anxious about coming to school can have a calm, relaxed start to their day and a check-in with myself, Mrs Bertrand or Mr Wilcock.
We work closely with parents. We run sessions called 'My Child and Me' where parents will come in to work in Rainbow Room with their child, doing creative activities and spending quality time together. We have also run 'Parenting Anxious Children' and can signpost parents to support.

Mrs Bertrand works in Rainbow Room in the mornings as our Learning Mentor. She supports children with their learning across the curriculum and also works with indivdual children towards achieving their targets on their SEND plans.
